Have a Software Idea? How to Build It With a Pakistani Software House

A plain-language guide for business owners: how an idea becomes a working product, what it costs, what to ask your software house, and what we learned building VizaFiz.

Many business owners in Pakistan, the UAE and abroad have a software idea they keep coming back to: an app for their customers, a booking system, a tool that saves their staff hours every week. Most never start, because the technical side feels like a foreign language. This guide explains the process in plain words, using a real product we built ourselves as the example.

The example: VizaFiz

VizaFiz is visa appointment alert software for applicants and agencies in Pakistan. It started as a simple observation: people were refreshing visa portals for weeks and still missing appointments that opened at random hours. Today it is a complete product with a website, a Windows app, Telegram and email alerts, an AI assistant that understands Roman Urdu, three paid plans and an admin side to run it. Neximo Studios designed, built and runs every part of it.

We share it because it shows the full journey a client's idea goes through with us.

Step 1: Describe the problem, not the technology

You do not need to know words like "framework" or "database". What we need from you is:

  • Who has the problem (your customers, your staff, or both)
  • What they do today, step by step, and where it goes wrong
  • What "success" looks like for you: more sales, fewer mistakes, hours saved
  • Anything that must never happen (for VizaFiz: the software must never book or submit anything on someone's behalf)

That last point matters more than people expect. Clear rules early on save a lot of money later.

Step 2: Agree the smallest useful version

The most common reason software projects fail is trying to build everything at once. For VizaFiz we started with a few visa routes and one alert channel, then added more countries, email, AI checks and Learning mode once the basics worked for real users.

For your project, we will help you choose the first version that real customers can use and pay for. Everything else goes on a list for later.

Step 3: Design before building

Before any development, you see the screens: what your customer sees, what your staff sees, and how they move from one step to the next. This is our UI/UX design stage. Changing a design costs very little; changing a finished app costs a lot.

Step 4: Build the pieces your product needs

Most products are a combination of a few building blocks. VizaFiz uses almost all of them:

  • A website that explains the product and ranks on Google (website development)
  • An app or system that does the actual work (for VizaFiz, a Windows app)
  • Accounts, payments and an admin panel to run the business (business systems)
  • Messages and alerts on the channels your customers already use, such as WhatsApp, Telegram or email (AI chatbots)
  • AI features, only where they genuinely help (custom AI solutions)

You do not have to choose the technology. We choose proven, widely used tools so the product stays fast, secure and easy for any good developer to maintain later.

What does it cost?

It depends on how many of the building blocks above you need and how complex each one is. A business website starts from around PKR 60,000 to 100,000, while products with accounts, payments, apps and AI are quoted after a short scoping call. You can see typical ranges on our pricing page. We always give you a written scope, a price and milestones before work starts.

Questions to ask any software house

Whoever you work with, ask these before you pay anything:

  • Have you built and launched a product of your own, not just client websites?
  • Will I own the code, the domain and all accounts?
  • Who will I talk to every week, and in which language?
  • What happens after launch: updates, backups, fixes?
  • Can I see a live product you built and talk to a past client?

Why building our own product makes us better for you

Running VizaFiz means we deal with the same things our clients deal with: real users, support messages, payments, Google rankings and changes on websites we do not control. Those lessons go straight into the projects we build for clients.

Next step

If you have an idea, write it down in a few sentences and send it to us. We will reply with honest questions, a suggested first version and an estimate. You can also read how we built VizaFiz in more detail.
